Resistance to Stretch
Minimum to moderate resistance to stretch. Light handling is required to smoothly stretch material around area. Good to use in a gravity assisted position.
Conforms well to bony anatomy with little effort.
Drape
Maximum drape. Contours well around bony prominences and into recesses of the palm and joints. Creates intimate fit easily.
Memory
Moderate to Maximum memory. Material slowly returns to its original shape when reheated.
Rigidity
Moderate rigidity. Splints hold their shape against the pull of strong muscles.
Bonding
NS (Non-Stick) material has a traditional coating that will not stick to bandages or skin but does have some tackiness.
A temporary bond can be pulled apart once cooled.
For permanent bond, use solvent or scrape off coating, dry heat and press together firmly.
Surface Finish
Glossy white, opaque surface that resists fingerprints. The material cuts easily when warm leaving smooth, rounded edges. Smooth reheated edges with wet finger.
Applications
Ideal for splinting on post surgical, cooperative patients especially hand and thumb splints.
Working Time
Sets up in three to six minutes at 150� (66�C)..
