Dermanet Ag+ is an Antimicrobial Alginate Silver Wound Contact Layer Dressing designed to prevent infections. Dermanet Ag+ Contact Layer combines the Dermanet wound contact layer and Algidex Ag Silver technology. Algidex Ag technology is a formulation of ionic silver combined in an alginate and Maltodextrin matrix. Algidex Ag offers an immediate release of active ionic silver as well as an extended release for broad antimicrobial effectiveness. Algidex Ag decreases surface wound contaminates, decreases wound odor, and creates a moist environment conducive to healing. The Maltodextrin creates an environment that helps the body's own cells to carry out the task of granulation tissue formulation while eliminating wound odor. This unique formulation can be used on dry, moist or wet wounds.
The Dermanet Ag+ border combines the Dermanet Ag and Transeal polyurethane dressing. The Dermanet Ag+ is "island placed" in the center of the Transeal and provides an excellent dressing for surgical incisions, lacerations, and vascular access sites. The Dermanet Ag+ island contact layer creates an antimicrobial, non-adherent surface that will not adhere to sutures or staples while the Transeal hold the dressing securely in place. The Dermanet Ag+ Transeal also provides a breathable barrier to external contaminants.
Dermanet Ag+ Antimicrobial Alginate Silver Contact Layer Dressing is transparent which allows for easy inspection of the wound, surgical site or vascular access site. Dermanet Ag+ Dressings protect fragile granulation tissue. Manufactured by DeRoyal, Dermanet Ag+ is easy to apply and remove from the wound. Dermanet Ag+ will not adhere to the wound upon removal and will not pull sutures or staples. This Antimicrobial Alginate Silver Wound Contact Layer Dressing is non-staining, non-irritating and latex free.
