Description
The Smart "Y" is a device designed specifically for centesis of the chest or abdomen that eliminates the risk and confusion involved in these tricky procedures. Developed by an RN, this device replaces "3-way stopcocks" and their inherent problems. It is extremely simple to operate and procedures can be done without an assistant. The Smart "Y" acts as an automatic 3-way stopcock and allows you to easily remove and measure the volume of fluids or air removed from a body cavity (thoracentesis, abdominocentesis). It may also be used as short-term chest tube. The device consists of an 8" non-DEHP bifuse set with two microclaves and two back check valves for one-way flow.
